We already discussed a lot of things regarding Belgacom TV, but as already mentioned before...Belgacom TV has a lot of issues. As Belgacom has a 'closed policy' (= they don't inform you about the issues), it's difficult to know what the existing issues are.

Therefor, I've made a small list of issues which I -and other people- encountered with Belgacom TV. So this list does NOT come from Belgacom itself, it's based on personal experience.

AreaIssue
 outstanding
 Comfort view
If you pause a movie/program, the blue banner stays on screen for a couple of seconds. This means that you lose seconds of subtitles.
 YES
 Comfort view
You can only record things which are registered in the EPG. If it doesn't exist on EPG, you can forget to record something. YES
 Comfort view
Fast forward is something which allows you to forward X minutes/hours. Sometimes this is allowed...sometimes not. God knows why sometimes it can, and sometimes it can't be used.
 YES
 Comfort view
Fast forward... the digits are unreadable as the characters are in white, on light blue background. (weird that Belgacom never noticed that themself!)
 YES
 Comfort view
You can not set repeated recordings. For example, you can not say: record this program every week. YES
 Comfort view
Only possible to record things 4 days in front, as the EPG is only available for 4 days. If you are away for 1 week, bad luck. YES
StartupIt takes 20-30 minutes to start Belgacom TV if you unplug the power. YES
User friendliness Decoder starts in the Belgacom TV menu. For a lot of users this means: Start the TV with remote control 1, start Belgacom TV with remote control 2 and then switch to 'digital' TV for watching TV. = pain in the ass for a lot of people;  YES
On demand
Every time you press the 'on demand' button, the program 'Zoom' starts in a small window. This means that you can't follow the program anymore which you were watching. (result: you will less often consult the on demand listing)
 YES
ServicesServices are still quite useless, except for the 'photo albums' which were added lately. The email function via Belgacom TV, which was promised years ago is still missing. Also missing are a web browser and games. (as comparison: almost all IPTV providers around the world are giving those services) YES
 User friendliness
Brussels is known as the capital of the EU, and for the buildings of the European Commission. So a lot of English people are living in Brussels. Nevertheless it's not possible to put your decoder in English. (and the website of Belgacom in English sucks big time, a lot of French words on the English site)  YES
OfferThe number of music channels on Belgacom TV are terrible. Compared with Telenet digital TV, this is even a disaster. Smaller radio channels are not allowed on Belgacom TV as Belgacom asks way to much money. (quote small Flemish radio station)  YES
 User friendliness
Belgacom doesn't offer reduction on the 'on demand' if you rent X movies. You always need to pay the full price.  YES
OfferFor years, Telenet digital TV is offering 'digitext' to their customers. Till now, this is still not possible on Belgacom TV.
 YES
User friendlinessIf you use comfort view, and you have put your program on pause and you resumed, there is no way to know that you are actually watching a program in delay. If you don't remember that, and you go to another channel -> you will loose your programs. So there is no indicator if you watch from your hard disk.  YES
HD'HD' is actually unusable. HD decoders are always hanging, crashing, etc. Only thing what Belgacom says is: watch the SD programs iso the HD programs
 YES
OfferThe extra packets (select, movie) are waaaaaaaaaaaaay to expensive.
 YES
OfferNL packets are not at all NL. There are almost no NL channels in there! YES
DecoderThe decoder , which you must use, has a display. A lot of times this doesn't work anymore until you reboot. And there is no way to get for example the time on the display  YES
 User friendliness
The user interface of the PVR is not so 'user friendly'. If you need to delete a lot of entries from the PVR, good luck.  YES
Startup
HD decoder comes very slowly out of standby mode.  YES
 Comfort view
With comfort view you can record on your harddisk.. but NOT the radio channels
 YES
 Comfort view
The SA decoders are quite crappy, that's a public secret. But if you decoder breaks, you lose ALL your recordings, and there is no way to copy them to an external location. (on external disk, or on PC)  YES
 Comfort view
(almost the same as previous point) According to Belgacom, comfort view replaces your standard PVR. But you can only watch your programs if you are subscribed to Belgacom TV. Imagine that now you want to switch IPTV provider, you lose all your recordings. So you can only watch your recordings if you are paying Belgacom every month.  YES
On demandSince the last updates, browsing the on demand list can result in an errors. YES
On demandWhen you press the on-demand button, you will first get the ZOOM channel in full screen for a few seconds, and then the on demand window will appear YES
 Comfort view
You cannot trust the PVR. It happens a lot that the recording doesn't work In the PVR list, the 'start time' is the same as the 'end time'.
 YES
User friendliness  This is not a bug, but a nice to have. Belgium has a lot of older people. It would be nice to be able to configure the font size of the subtitles & teletext etc. The older people would like this a lot.  YES
General When you are watching a HD channel, and you press for example 'pvr'. A blue screen will appear instead of the HD channel. (in the upper right of the screen)  YES
User friendlinessWatch for example channnel 1, and switch to the radio. If you there press the red button, and you press the 'digital tv' button you will always return to channel 980 iso the previous channel  YES
General Picasaweb doesn't play videos on Belgacom TV  YES
